Student injured: A student of Class IX of Sainik School, Kunjpura, sustained serious head injuries after he fell down from a horse while riding it on the school campus on Saturday. He was rushed to a private hospital. Ashish is in a state of comma. He is the son of the school principal’s driver.

LPG cylinders: The police has recovered nine LPG cylinders from Mohan Lal. A police spokesman said Mohan Lal had confessed that he had stolen the cylinders with the help of his two accomplices.
One booked: On the complaint lodged by Rajesh of Vishanu Colony in Jagadhari, Yamunanagar, the police has registered a case against a person on Saturday for withdrawing Rs 40,000 from Rajesh’s ATM account.

Three held: The Dharuhera police has arrested three persons identified as Brahm Prakash, Bijender and Hawa Singh, all residents of the Bhiwadi area of Alwar district in Rajasthan in connection with the murder of Jaipal, a truck driver and a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who was done to death at the Transport Nagar in Maheshwari village, near Dharuhera, on the night of June 18. They were produced in a local court on Saturday, which remanded them in two-day police custody.

2 commit suicide: Atul (20) of Jatwara village and a girl of Debru village committed suicide by jumping before a train near a level crossing at the Sonepat Cooperative Sugar Mill on Friday. It was suspected to be a case of an affair. A GRP team brought the victims’ bodies at GRP police station for the identification. Later, the bodies were sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination and a case was registered.
BCA results: Students of Hindu Girls College not only topped Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, but five of its students bagged the first four positions and two students shared 10th position of university’s merit list in the 5th semester examination of the BCA. Aarti of Hindu Girls College topped the university by securing 433 marks out of 500.
Two killed: Pradeep (22) of Sanjiv Nagar in Delhi and Pallavi of Meerut in UP died on the spot when their car hit in the rear of a Punjab Roadways bus parked near Kundli on Friday. The victims’ bodies were found on the back seat of the car, the driver was suspected to have escaped after the accident.

3 killed in accidents: Three persons died in separate road accidents across Kashmir since Friday. Pathani (12) from Dansar in Rajasthan died when she was hit by a speeding bus in the Hazratbal area here. A boy died and another got injured when their tractor met with an accident at Krumhoora, Handwara. A motorcyclist died when he was hit by a Tata Sumo near Sopore in Baramulla district.Porcupine injures 3: A wild porcupine injured three persons in Utrsoo and Anantnag. The porcupine was later caught by the police and handed over to the Wild Life Department, the police said here.
Body recovered: The police recovered an unidentified male body, whose throat was slit, under a culvert on the National Highway at Lower Munda, Kulgam. The body has been sent for postmortem and a case has been registered, the police said.
Drawing competition: A drawing competition was organised by the J&K Police at sub divisional level in Pattan on Saturday. As many as 40 students from different schools of Pattan participated in the competition. A debate will be organised next week and winners will be awarded prizes.
Police-public meet: A police-public meeting was held at the Magam police post in Handwara that was attended by various people, including sarpanches and panches of the area. The meeting was presided over by Handwara SP Mohammad Aslam Choudry along with Handwara SDPO Ifroz Ahmad and the Handwara SHO. The agenda of the meeting was to improve the police-public relations besides discussing various issues.
