Six injured in clash over land dispute:
Six persons received injuries over land dispute in village Kandhwala Amarkot here on Wednesday. Three rounds of firing were also reported during the clash, sources said. All the victims have been admitted to the civil hospital here.

Curbing traffic violations by women: The police today launched a special drive to check the violation of traffic rules by college-going girls and women. Most of the girls were found not carrying their driving licence and other required documents while driving two-wheelers and cars. The police, however, let them off with a warning.

2 held with prohibited drugs
: The A-division police team has arrested two persons and recovered prohibited drugs and a motorcycle from their possession. The accused have been identified as Suraj of Nawi Abadi, Fatehgarh Churian road, and Kapil of Gali Ghaniya Kandh Sahib, Batala.

Marriage palace sealed:
The MC yesterday sealed a marriage palace on the GT Road here following non-payment of the change of land use dues by the owner. Municipal Town Planner Tejpreet Singh said the owner of Mandakini Farms had started operations without paying dues to the tune of Rs 3 crore to Rs 4 crore on account of changing the use of land from agriculture to commercial.

Haryana Board Class X results today:
The Board of School Education, Haryana, has announced to declare results of Class X tomorrow. While Class X results will be out on May 31, Class XII results will come on June 5. In a meeting chaired by secretary DK Vohra it was decided to declare the results on time.

82 sleepers seized:
The Chamba police seized 82 sleepers of deodar yesterday at Jamuhar, about 12 km from here. One person has been booked in this case. Disclosing this here today, Superintendent of Police, Chamba, Kuldeep Sharma said the sleepers belonged to Rajesh Kumar against whom a case had been registered at the Chamba police station.

Stores opened
: PC maker Lenovo has announced the launch of 14 stores in the state. Amit Dhar, general manager (North), said: “We want to make our PCs more accessible to our customers. This move is aimed at penetrating deeper into the Indian market.” The stores are located in Bahu Plaza, Kachi Chhawani, Gandhi Nagar, Kathua, Sambha, Katra Udhampur, Vijaypur, Bypass Channi Road, Haidarpura, Pulwama, Roopnagar, Anantnag and Leh.

Pak violates ceasefire: In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops today fired on a forward Indian post along the international border in Samba sector. A BSF jawan was injured in the firing incident. BSF officers said Pakistan rangers fired at the Regal post in Samba sector around 7.45 pm. The BSF jawan, identified as Deepak Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, received a bullet injury in the abdomen and was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital.
