MC polls: Congress, BJP, SAD release first lists

The Congress party took the lead by issuing the list of candidates for the upcoming MC elections. A first list of 71 candidates was issued by the Congress party today, while four tickets have been kept on hold.

2 drug peddlers arrested with opium

The Ludhiana (rural) police has arrested two drug peddlers during two separate operations and recovered one kilogram of opium from their possession. The accused have been identified as Mohan Singh, alias Mohna of Dhoorkot village in Moga district and Avtar Singh, alias Tari of Haryeao Khurd village in Patiala district.
