After Mansa, it is Ludhiana from where a minor outbreak of chicken pox has been reported. Twenty three children suffering form this viral infection have been found in the Ranjeet Nagar area of the city.

2 drug peddlers arrested with opium

The Ludhiana (rural) police has arrested two drug peddlers during two separate operations and recovered one kilogram of opium from their possession. The accused have been identified as Mohan Singh, alias Mohna of Dhoorkot village in Moga district and Avtar Singh, alias Tari of Haryeao Khurd village in Patiala district.
