Encroachers have a field day in Ambala
Ambala, January 5 The haphazard parking makes it difficult for a person to cross the street, whereas some times it becomes impossible for a person to remove his vehicle once he has parked it. In the absence of stringent action being taken, the shopkeepers and residents alike are making no effort to help improve the situation. The district administration has made some endeavours to improve the parking of vehicles, the shopkeepers are not willing to relent since they have encroached upon the roadsides. Senior officials in the district administration said they had stepped up on this front and were making all efforts to improve the situation. The administration sought the help of the municipal corporation to clear the encroachments but to no avail. The situation has improved a bit but after a couple of days it will be back to the square one. Some shopkeepers keen to see the problem resolved have even written to the administration demanding strict action to be taken against the encroachers. “The streets are 14-feet wide on which the people have encroached for another 5-6 feet, how will anyone pass on these streets?” said Naresh Gulati, a shopkeeper. The shopkeepers say that the market constantly remains crowded and the streets, which are encroached upon discourage customers from entering these lanes.Things are even worse in the Subji Mandi area where encroachments have become a regular fixture. Every one seems to notice this menace but the local authorities are reluctant to take any action. The sources in the administration revealed to The Tribune that once the temporary anti- encroachment drive gained momentum, permanent encroachments on drains would be targeted. |

He said the opposite party advised him to visit the service centre of Blackberry. He alleged that finding major trouble in the set, the service replaced the complete software and assured him that the handset would work properly. However, the mobile set never worked properly and he had to again approach the authorised service centre to rectify the defect. After retaining the handset for a number of days, the service centre returned the same, claiming that it had replaced the mother board of the mobile handset. However, the mobile handset continuously gave trouble. He requested the opposite party to replace the mobile handset in question, but to no effect. Ultimately, he purchased a new Nokia mobile handset for Rs 15,000. The counsel for respondents pleaded that they were not involved in the manufacture of the mobile phones and were not authorised to repair the handset (Blackberry) manufactured by Redington (I) Ltd Chennai (opposite party No. 3). It was stated that in the instant case, no such warranty could be claimed by the complainant from them as the original guarantee from the manufacturer still existed.
