Our Correspondent

Abohar, December 5
Teams from Seetogunno- based Community Health Center examined 272 children during the daylong special camp at village Amarpura near here to detect non-Hodgkin patients.
The step was taken upon publication of a report in these columns regarding death of three children at Amarpura and Kerakhera villages.

Block Extension Education officer Anil Dhamu informed in the evening the teams led by Senior Medical officer Dr RK Arora also comprised of Dr Akash Khurana and Dr Rohit. Although most of the children were found suffering of seasonal diseases, 154 of them were given booster dose of DPT as a preventive measure besides medicines free of cost.

Door-to-door, vaccination has been completed in the colony in which a child had died reportedly due to non-Hodgkin disease.

As of now, no more children had symptoms of the deadly disease, the officials claimed.

Dhamu said a survey conducted in the affected villages indicated that the parents have not been availing of the facility over the preventive immunization/vaccination offered on each Wednesday at the civil hospitals and community health centers.
