Textile processing unit gutted

A textile processing unit in Fateh Singh Nagar on the Chandigarh Road was destroyed in a fire that broke out today afternoon. Five fire tenders were pressed into service and it took more than three hours to douse the flames.

An eye surgeon was booked for negligence three years after she performed a cataract operation following which the victim had lost sight of his left eye. Ironically, the case was registered nearly seven months after the death of the victim.
