4 months on, Budha Nullah project yet to take off

Even though four months have passed after a Rs 16 crore bioremediation project to clean up the city’s Budha Nullah was launched, the firm given the contract has yet to begin work because it reportedly failed to furnish the bank guarantee to the central government.

Miraculous escape for four

Four persons had a miraculous escape late last evening when the car in which they were travelling got stuck in a crater formed due to a road cave-in near Saggu Chowk of Gobind Nagar. This is the same spot where a truck driver had died when his truck fell into the crater on the night of August 12.

A youth, who stole the mini truck loaded with copper worth Rs 8 lakh, was arrested last night. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ashish Chaudhry said a CIA team acted on a tip-off that the youth was on the run after truckload of copper.
