Naulakha Cinema to be history
Ludhiana, May 31
A 72-year-old prominent landmark of the city, Naulakha Cinema, will soon be history with its new owner deciding to demolish it to construct a shopping complex. The cinema, that was inaugurated in 1938, saw residents spending their evenings there and watching Bollywood blockbusters of yore.

389 buildings, 18 colonies illegal: MC survey

Belying the tall claims of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation of taking action against violators flouting building bylaws and checking encroachment, a latest survey conducted by the civic body has not only discovered 389 illegal buildings but has also identified 18 illegal residential colonies in the city that have sprung up in recent years.
Busy summers ahead for schoolchildren

4 hurt in mishap
Mullanpur Dakha, May 31
Four persons were injured when a speeding truck collided with a Maruti car and a Punjab Roadways bus near the main chowk on the Ludhiana-Ferozepur Road here today.
Though no case was registered, the police has seized all the vehicles involved in the mishap.
