Boy ‘chews off’ friend’s thumb over bike keys

A boy allegedly chewed off the thumb of his friend’s right hand after the latter refused to hand over the keys of his motorcycle near Hotel Peninsula on the road dividing Sectors 8 and 9 here late on Thursday night.

You’re never too old for a PhD

In 1975 Gurcharan Singh Gotra was 25 years old when he attended Panjab University’s annual convocation to receive his master’s degree in economics. Now 60 and having resumed studies after a gap of almost three-and-a-half decades, he is among the very few of his age who will receive a doctorate at PU’s 60th annual convocation to be held on Monday.
