Workshop on e-content: A workshop on “e-content development and question generation” under the National Mission on Education through ICT (MHRD project) was held at the Senate Hall of Panjab University. The objective of the workshop was to discuss the process to be followed for generation of various forms of e-contents. Around 110 participants from different colleges and offices of Punjab and Chandigarh participated in the workshop. Schools
Red day: The pre-primary wing of AKSIPS celebrated red day on Saturday by indulging in various games like recognising red fruits and vegetables. The students of nursery class enacted body parts, while the students of KG spoke on hygiene and manners. Fancy dress: Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, held its school cabinet initiation and an inter-house fancy dress competition on Saturday at the Nirman Theatre, Sector 32. Prerna Puri Wasu, Registration and Licencing Authority, UT administration, was the chief guest on the occasion. Interactive session: Prabhav Group from Delhi was at Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, to train children on various values like responsibility, compassion and tolerance. The group of delegates interacted with the students of class VI. The interactive session focused on respect for one and all and the need of developing the moral values towards holistic living was stressed. Yoga workshop: A three-day workshop on “Power and Astanga Yog” will be organised at DAV Model School, Sector 15, from May 25. The workshop will start at 3.30 pm. day: To mark the World Biodiversity Day, an NGO, Yuvsatta, and
department of environment, UT administration, organised an
inter-school biodiversity hunt at the Botanical Garden near Sarangpur.
Over 100 students accompanied by their teachers participated in the
event. Children in teams of five each were asked to spot maximum
number of birds and trees at the Botanical Garden to win the contest.

BSNL general manager meets Vohra: The general manager of BSNL, Srinagar, Mahesh Shukla, called on Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhavan here on Friday. Shukla briefed the Governor about the functioning of the BSNL in the Srinagar circle and the measures being taken for improving the land line and mobile phone services and Internet connectivity in the area of his responsibility. The Governor underlined the need for bringing continuous improvement in the telecommunication services being provided to the people.Army holds medical camp: The 3 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Victor Force organised a medical camp at Army Goodwill School, Aishmuqam, on Saturday. Local residents, mainly senior citizens, physically challenged and needy people from villages of south Kashmir, were provided with free consultation services, medicines and medical aids. Houses, crop destroyed: Nearly 30 mud houses, four canals and barley crop have been destroyed in landslides in remote villages of Hanu Yokma, Hano Thang and Hanu Gongma. Dawa Tsering of Hanu village said the Hanu-Leh road had been damaged in the landslides and villages remained cut off from the district headquarters for the past two days following heavy rain. Representatives of villagers on Saturday met Tsering Dorjey, chief executive councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, in Leh and urged him to ensure the immediate restoration of canals to protect the standing crop and the village road.
