After a long time span of over a decade, the city will once again figure on the country’s air map tomorrow (May 13). The ATR 42 aircraft pushed into service by Air India, the national carrier, for the inaugural New Delhi-Ludhiana flight is expected to have a smooth takeoff and make a perfect landing.
Mandi board land a garbage dump

About 10 acres of prime land on the Hambran road, belonging to the Punjab Mandi Board, the estimated cost of which would be more than Rs 50 crore, has turned out to be a garbage dump, a den for ant-social elements and a heaven for encroachers. Thanks to the “callous” attitude of the board officials, who have miserably failed to utilise the land for some constructive purposes.
