Bank heist: Rs 25,000 reward offered for info on suspects

In what could be construed as a lack of confidence in nabbing the culprits, the city police today announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for anyone providing information about the suspects who robbed a bank in Kohara yesterday afternoon.

Several acres, specifically allocated for setting up an advanced training institute here, is now being used as a garbage and sewer-water dump, thanks to the local municipal committee, which has failed to find solution to the drainage problem faced by the residents since long.

Felling: Eyebrows raised after contractor let off
Ludhiana, April 6
Contractor, whose trolley was caught by district forest officer Vishal Chauhan for allegedly felling trees, three days ago, was let off with minor penalty. The inaction on the part of the forest department has raised eyebrows as the incident of alleged felling is considered an offence according to the Punjab Financial Rules and needs to be reported to the police.

Death Penalty to 17 youths in UAE

The Sikh Students Federation has decided to appeal for the release of the 17 youth who have been awarded death sentence in Dubai.
