IT raids on KC group
Chandigarh, February 18 
The police outside KC Crossroad during a raid conducted by the income tax department in Sector 10, Panchkula, on Thursday. In a massive operation 
spread across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and the UT, several teams of the investigation wing of the income tax department today conducted raids on nearly 18 business houses, including four residential premises of the KC group owning a hotel chain, resort and educational institutes.

5-year old hit by car, dies
Chandigarh, February 18 
The car that crashed into the railing on the road separating Sectors 22 and 23 in Chandigarh on Thursday. A five-year-old schoolgirl was killed while her seven-year-old cousin was seriously injured after reportedly being hit by a car in Sector 45 here this afternoon.

Woman commits suicide

A 35-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her Sector-41 residence here this afternoon.

2 IAF ex-sergeants held for fraud

The police has arrested two former sergeants of the Indian Air Force on charges of duping gullible people by promising them jobs in merchant navy against money.The police said the accused — Naveen Kumar Sharma and Ashok Kumar — of Bihar were running their office, Indra Prastha Marine Management, in Sector 40-D. They gave advertisements in newspapers promising jobs to aspiring youths in merchant navy.
