Plea filed against proposed formation of MC

Anguished over the state government’s decision on the proposed formation of the Panchkula Muncipal Corporation under which the municipal committees of Kalka and Pinjore are to be included in the corporation, residents of Pinjore including Vijay Bansal, senior politician, Amar Chand Dhiman, vice-president MC, Pinjore, Sanjeev Kumar, Municipal Councilor, Pinjore, and Satinder Singh Municipal Councilor, Pinjore have filed a civic writ petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, under Articles 226/227of the Constitution challenged the formation of the above said corporation.

Woman arrested for duping three youths

The police today arrested Shilpa Aggarwal for duping three youths of Rs 6 lakh for sending them to Canada in search of greener pastures. Shilpa, a resident of Sector 37, had been absconding since 2008, after the police had registered a case against her in the same year for arranging fake visa documents, on the complaint of the three youths.
