Play enacted:
Members of the Creative Arts, a recently formed theatre society, staged a street play ‘Yeh natak nahin hai’ at different places in the town today to bring awareness against the felling of trees. Besides other artistes director Vimal Midha performed key roles. 

Bathinda
Cancer awareness camp organised:
The Bathinda Vikas Manch organised a cancer awareness and check-up camp on the Ajit road here. On the occasion, Dr Naresh Garg, Surgeon, said the disease was curable if detected at an early stage. He said the main reasons behind the disease were air and water pollutions and food adulteration.
He said by using pesticides in large quantity in Malwa region, people had invited several diseases like cancer to this belt.

‘Ensure infant immunisation’:
In a PIL, Amritsar resident Harpreet Singh sought directions to the authorities concerned to ensure full coverage of the infants through immunisation. The Bench issued notice to state of Punjab and other respondents for April 5.

CHANDIGARH

Farewell: The three-day farewell ceremony of Class X students of St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, concluded here today. The function began with the “Lamp of knowledge” ceremony. Class IX students performed a dance. Vardeep Singh and Ibna Sharma were adjudged Mr Stephenian and Miss Stephenian, respectively. Various dance performances by students marked the conclusion of the function.
