Woman hit by train, dies: A woman was killed on Sunday after being hit by a train near Sirhind railway crossing. The victim has been identified as Devinder Kaur, wife of Gurnam Singh, a resident of Sirhind. Police officials said she was trying to cross the railway lines and came in contact with a goods train coming from Nangal. The postmortem of the body was conducted at the local Civil Hospital and inquest proceedings had been initiated in this connection.

5 arrested for burglary: Stolen goods worth Rs 40,000 were recovered from burglars at a naka laid by CIA wing of the Mohali Police. ASI Pawan Kumar of the CIA wing came to know that Rohit, Suraj Yadav, Seema Ram, Dharminder and Sakar, all residents of Uttar Pradesh, were going to sell stolen goods, including taps and household goods in Palsora. Following the information, all suspects were arrested.
