Pipelines in Phase I to be revamped

The Chandigarh administration plans to revamp water pipelines and sewerage in the entire Phase I of the city, particularly Sectors 1 to 30. The project costs have been pegged at approximately Rs 200 crore.

Cops take mom on ‘chase’ route

A local court today handed over the twin sisters, who were allegedly kidnapped and recovered in a dramatic fashion, to their parents after verifying their antecedents. The police, on the other hand, took Simran, the mother of the twins, along the route she claimed to have taken to reach Sector 7, to reconstruct the event.

Residents face MC, admn apathy

Residents of Sector 52, Chandigarh, are living under pathetic conditions from the last one month with sewerage water overflowing on the streets and water entering their houses due to blocked pipes. Woman commits suicide

A 29-year-old woman allegedly hanged herself to death at her Ram Darbar residence, here this morning. Though the victim, Samta, had left a suicide note behind her, she did not mention the reason behind taking the extreme step.

Thieves decamp with tyres, music system
Chandigarh, December 1
Thieves decamped with tyres and music system and other parts of a car parked at Sector 34. Sanjiv Bharbhakar of Sector 34 reported to the police alleging that music system, tyres, and other parts of his Maruti car (HP 37 B 2205), which was parked outside his residence, were stolen on November 27. A case has been registered.
