Kahlon, who ruled the amateur golf circuit for several years, has been made the director of the club's Golf Academy and Ajay Gujral its joint director.

Club president BN Gill, secretary PS Ghai (Nippy) and other governing council members were a happy lot.

An elated president said with the SAM PuttLab installed and other teaching systems planned for the future, the club was hopeful of setting up one of the best golf academies, where members and non-members would be able to sharpen their putting skills.

“It is a challenging task,” said Harmeet Kahlon, who is handling the director's post in an honorary capacity. “I will do full justice to it,” he added.

The golf academy will soon be housed in a separate office for which a small site has been earmarked behind the pool. According to president Gill, the gazebo will be converted into an academy office.

The next in line is the Explainer swing machine, which the golf club will acquire in the next two months, said the president.
