Pinjore-Parwanoo stretch in utter neglect
Kalka, October 30 They allege that due to the apathetic attitude of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the condition of the highway has been worsening with each passing day. Daily commuters, especially two-wheeler riders, have been the worst hit due to the poor shape of the road. The stretch between Gandhi Chowk, Kalka, and Parwanoo barrier, especially opposite the Kali Mata Temple, has deteriorated, leading to frequent traffic jams, especially in the evening hours. Consequently, motorisrts are forced to move at snail’s space. The national highway authorities have not carried out maintenance work on the stretch for a long time. Huge potholes dot the stretch leading to frequent accidents. Many accidents have taken place on the stretch and claimed many lives in the recent months due to the poor shape of the road. The condition of the highway in the main bazaar of Pinjore is no different. As a result, jams are commonplace there. The inhabitants of Kalka and Pinjore have accused the NHAI authorities of failing to carry out maintenance and re-carpeting of the highway despite repeated requests. |
