Separate SGPC
Sirsa, February 4 Talking to mediapersons here today, Jhinda said the HSGPC (ad hoc) would not wait for long for the constitution of a separate SGPC for Haryana. He said the HSGPC would take over the “seva” of all gurdwaras in Haryana in case the Haryana government failed to fulfil its promise of a separate SGPC for the state by the forthcoming parliamentary polls. In response, Aherwan dared Jhinda to try it in any one gurdwara of his choice. “Under what law does he want to take control of the gurdwaras in Haryana?” Aherwan asked. He said anyone coming to take control over the gurdwaras would have to come walking over his dead body. Meanwhile, the “shukrana yatra” of the HSGPC entered Fatehabad district late in the evening today. However, Jhinda is not accompanying the yatra in Fatehabad district. “After the hostility shown by Aherwan, I have decided not to accompany the yatra in Fatehabad, his home district,” Jhinda said while talking to The Tribune. The yatra will move to Ratia tomorrow and stay there for the night before moving ahead. The district authorities, meanwhile, have made elaborate arrangements due to the presence of several rival groups in the Ratia area on February 6. While the yatra will pass through Ratia villages on that day after staying for Thursday night at Ratia town, the state unit of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) will hold its meeting on the same day, which will be addressed by Balwinder Singh Bhundar, general secretary in charge of the party. Avtar Singh Makkar, SGPC president, will also visit Ratia on February 6, where he will address a congregation at Kamana, 4 km from
Ratia. |
Floorwise ownership allowed
Chandigarh, February 4 Disclosing this here today, Finance Minister Birender Singh said the decision had been taken at a high-level meeting held recently under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. He said the decision would be applicable only to the residential units in authorised areas and the vertical divisions of plots and an increase in the floor area ratio (FAR) would not be allowed. In the existing sectors/areas, the minimum size of plots on which floors would be registered independently would be 180 sq yd. Birender Singh said in addition to the normal stamp duty, 1 per cent extra stamp duty would have to be paid by the party desirous of registering the floorwise dwelling units through a separate challan. This 1 per cent stamp duty would be paid by the treasury to the municipal committee/HUDA, as the case might be, for defraying the costs of additional external development that these bodies would have to incur due to the pressures on civic amenities that would arise due to extra persons living on the plotted areas. He said the registration of floors could also be done in the case of plots which were yet to be constructed and there would be no restriction on the size of the plots that could have multiple owners floorwise. For new sectors, HUDA could devise rules and licence fees keeping in view the above decision. |
