Docs protest attack on jail officer

Doctors of the local Civil Hospital today staged a demonstration on the hospital premises by suspending their work for about two hours to register their resentment against superintendent of district jails, Hoshiarpur, Sat Pal Singh for allegedly instigating a prisoner of the jail to assault the medical officer of the district jail, Dr Gurwinder Singh, on the jail premises on December 12, allegedly due to his personal enmity with the doctor.
Farmers get paddy bonus by cheques

Punjab to take back anganwari supervisors

Punjab is all set to take back the anganwari supervisors. As a bunch of petitions against their termination came up for hearing before the high court, Division Bench of Justice Ashutosh Mohunta and Justice Rajan Gupta, Punjab advocate-general Hardev Singh Mattewal informed the Court that as many as 50 supervisors would be adjusted against the posts meant for direct recruits after amending the relevant rules.
