Woman poisons, strangulates beloved
Ludhiana, December 6
A man was allegedly murdered by his beloved at Kutcha No.13 here today. According to the police, the deceased Lucky (32) was first poisoned and then strangulated by his beloved Kiran. Both of them were living together for the past one month in a rented house at Kutcha No 13 near Field Gunj.

Two children died and their mother had a narrow escape after they allegedly tried to commit suicide. Kamaljit Kaur (28), wife of Rajiv Kumar, a resident of Jagraon, is stated to be mentally upset due to differences between her brother and his wife. Her parent’s house was at some distance from his house at Raikot bus stand (Kothe Pona), Jagraon.

Former Miss India Tina Chatwal will be home on the New Year’s eve, remembering those who lost their lives during the Mumbai terror attacks. Dressed in brown dress and red scarf, Tina was in the city to inaugurate a salon in Model Town.
“Lots of shows have been cancelled and I have also decided to stay home. We have to carry on with our lives and society has to be strong to bear such losses,” adds Tina.

Computer centre accused of issuing fake certificates
Mullanpur Dakha, December 6
A student has accused a local computer centre of issuing fake certificates to him. Gurbind Singh of Hissowal village in Raikot tehsil, near Mullanpur, yesterday filed a complaint with the Jagraon SSP and Ludhiana SSP accusing Rishi Computer Centre, Mullanpur, of issuing him fake certificates, gobbling up Rs 20,000 besides ruining two years of his life.

The police has booked six persons for attempted murder. On Thursday evening, the six — Param Jit Singh, alias Pamma, Charanjit Singh, alias Golu, Jagroop Singh, Charanjit Singh, Nirmal Singh and Bhag Singh — all of Bardeke village, had assaulted Manjit Singh of the same village with sharp-edged weapons with intent to kill.

Accepting the request of the District Football Association, Ludhiana, the union sports ministry, under its sports promotion scheme, has agreed to grant day-boarding to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) to cover schools and colleges under the scheme. The scheme has been awarded to the Shaheed Kartar Singh Government Senior Secondary School at Sarabha village in Ludhiana district.
