Sanitary items stolen from stadium
Ludhiana, April 4
There seems to be no end to problems of Guru Nanak Stadium, which is facing acute power crisis and encroachment by the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC).
The sanitation material worth lakhs of rupees has been stolen from the stadium.
There are no toilet seats and taps in 20 bathrooms and lavatory of the stadium.
Left with no options, the stadium authorities make alternative arrangements to solve the purpose.
Placement company owners in the net for duping 15
Ludhiana, March 4
The CIA wing-I of the city police has arrested two con men, who duped over 15 youths in the name of getting them jobs in multinational companies.
The accused, Jitender Kumar and Sarbjeet Singh, ran a job placement company, Spark India, from Model Gram. They allegedly gave fake appointment letters to the youth promising Rs 15,000 and above salary in other cities.
Stir by building and drawing branches staff
MC employees strike work; residents suffer

The agitating employees of building branch and drawing branch today got a shot in the arm when employees of all other branches of the municipal corporation boycotted work for three hours to protest against the arrest of three employees by the Vigilance Bureau.

Move to change land use rags residents

A letter by the Municipal Corporation to the Chief Town Planner on changing the land use of several areas thereby regularising all industrial units in residential area has not gone down well with the residents, who in order to stall the move, have shot off a letter to CTP.

Ultrasound machines at 3 centres sealed

The health administration here has sealed ultrasound machines at three scan centres in the city and their registration under the PNDT Act has been suspended for two weeks for irregularities and discrepancies in maintenance of record as per provisions of the Act.
