Fake Symbiosis institute raided
Owner in police net
Ludhiana, February 23
A high-level team of prestigious Symbiosis University, Pune, along with a team of the local police today raided a fake institute, Education Development Unit, run by an MBA, LLB youth, who was allegedly duping a large number of students in the name of giving them MBA degree from Symbiosis. The alleged fake institute was  being run at a house behind Ebony store near Mall Road.  A policeman comes out of the fake institute which claimed to give MA degree from Symbiosis.

PAU website contract changes hands
VC’s wife indirect beneficiary?

The contract of the much talked-about website of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) www.pau.edu.com, which was blocked due to "non-payment of bills", has reportedly been given to another vendor www.webcreationsx.com. The decision of giving contract to another party was taken during a meeting of the officials with VC Dr M.S.Kang here last evening.

Auto drivers rescue 3 missing kids
Ludhiana, February 23
While autorickshaw drivers are under the police scanner these days owing to their involvement in certain crime incidents, a group of such drivers left their work to rescue three missing children. The children, two sisters Roshni and Anju, along with a boy, Taheer, all aged between 4 and 7 had gone missing from Shivpuri after attending school. The autodrivers found them crying near Jalandhar bypass chowk at about 9 pm.

In a landmark move, the district and sessions Judge G K Rai has decided to send the judicial magistrate to local jails for the purpose of extending the judicial remand of undertrials.

Gang of robbers busted; 5 arrested

The CIA wing-II of the police has achieved a major breakthrough against criminal elements by busting a gang of five robbers who were allegedly involved in as many as 42 incidents of theft, snatching and robbery.

Exhibition by INIFD students opens

The International Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) opened its two-day annual exhibition “Designer Tadka” on their premises here today. The exhibition was inaugurated by Ritu Kochhar, director of INIFD corporate, Chandigarh. She awarded the students and complimented them for their hard work and the aesthetic values they had put in their collections.

Youth stages own murder; probe begins

The Ludhiana (Rural) police has initiated probe into a case in which a youth of Raekot town and his accomplice had tried to create false evidence by staging a drama of his murder by the husband of a woman with whom he allegedly had a relationship.

Villagers kill a bull
Ludhiana, February 23
A group of farmers in Kakowal village killed a bull after the animal damaged their standing wheat crop. The farmers, angry at the destruction, beat him to death with sticks.
