Two booked for stealing animals
Jagraon, January 17
The Humbran police has registered cases of theft against Raju of Nupur Bet and Rajesh Kumar, alias Raju of Landheke. Rajesh had on December 27 allegedly entered Sukhdev Singh’s house at Burj Maan Kaur and stolen 12 goats. In another case, Raju of Nurpur Bet had stolen four pigs from the residence of Pheru of Ballipur Khurd on November 30.

Suspended DFO gets anticipatory bail

Additional sessions judge M.S. Virdi today granted anticipatory bail to suspended Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) R.R. Kakkar, who was booked by the Dakha police along with five other forest department employees for allegedly kidnapping and beating an employee of a marriage resort.

3 city boys to represent Punjab

Three trainees of the Ludhiana Badminton Academy have been selected to represent Punjab in the aforthcoming National Badminton Championship slated to be held at Panjim (Goa) from January 19 to 27, according to Rajinder Kalsi, general secretary, Punjab Badminton Association.
