Panels for labour welfare, minimum wages

To create congenial employer-employee relationship and safeguard rights of the labour in the state, the Punjab Government has constituted an 18-member Punjab State Labour Welfare Board and a 21-member Punjab Minimum Wages Advisory Board with immediate effect.
Probe against SMO sought

The Rural Medical Services Association of Punjab and doctors working in rural areas under Zila Prishads in Punjab have sought a probe against a senior medical officer(SMO)of Gurdaspur allegedly for harassing a woman doctor posted at Rural Health Officer
(RMO) at Gho under PHC Sujanpur in Gurdaspur district.
Ranbir shoots in Amritsar

Ranbir Kapoor, son of yesteryear Bollywood superstars Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, who has catapulted to fame with his first release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Saawarian”, arrived in the holy city last evening to shoot for a reportedly untitled film for the Yash Raj banner.
