Illicit relations claim 3 lives
Phagwara, October 2
Three members of a family, including a woman and her two children, reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison at Nakodar on Monday night. According to the reports, all three were immediately rushed to a Jalandhar hospital. While both the kids died last night, their mother breathed her last early morning today.

Ex-panch beaten to death
Phagwara, October 2
A former panch of village Shankar, Raunqui Ram, was allegedly beaten to death by some persons last night. Personal enmity was said to be the reason behind the attack, said police.

Fifteen-year-old shooter Nikita Gupta of Jalandhar is not only hopeful of qualifying for the national shooting championship but also confident of winning a medal in the competition. Interestingly, her performance in the recently concluded state-level championship at Mohali has already qualified her for all-India GV Mavalankar shooting championship to be held at Agra from October 24.

A dance night was held at Delhi International Public School (DIPS) here on Saturday, in collaboration with SDIPS (Shiamak Davar Institute for Performing Arts). The performers enthralled the audience (largely of parents of the participants) with their dances.

Kho-kho championships from Oct 5
Jalandhar, October 2
The Jalandhar District Kho-Kho Association will organise the district kho-kho championships for the junior and senior sections from October 5 and 6. The championships will be dedicated to the birth centenary celebrations of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
