Robin is new CPAC member
Amritsar, October 2 Ravinder Singh Robin, bureau chief, Asian News International (ANI), has been appointed a member of the Central Press Accreditation Committee (CPAC) by the Government of India. He is the only journalist from Punjab who was elected as the member of the CPAC  for the present term.

A two-day technical fest, OREGON-2007, organised by the electronics students forum of Guru Nanak Dev University came to an end, which saw more than 300 students across north India participating in the event. Prof Raghbir Singh, dean, academic affairs, gave away the prizes to the winners.

MC goes in overdrive

The municipal corporation launched a cleanliness drive in the walled city area here on Tuesday in the presence of minister for health and family welfare Laxmi Kanta Chawla and MP Navjot Singh Sidhu. Chawla said the dream of having a clean and hygienic city could not be realised until the residents resolved not to litter on the streets, and cooperate in the drive launched by the corporation. — OC
