The festival is an attempt to revive the temples of this tehsil as well as the old brotherhood between Kashmiri Pandit’s and Muslims, said secretary of the Devesthan Prabandhak Committee M.K. Tikko. Noorul Amin, a local resident in the area, expressed happiness while welcoming a group of Kashmiri Pandits visiting the shrine. Remembering the good old days, he narrated past experiences when members from both communities used to work for the festival.

Pyariji, wife of famous poet and writer Mohan Lal Ash of Bijbhera, could not hold her tears after reaching the shrine. She met a large number of local people with whom her family had stayed with before they migrated from the state at the peak of militancy. Local MLA A.R. Veeri said the occasion served as a platform for interaction between Muslims and Hindus after a long gap.
