Mandi Ahmedgarh, December 15
Two persons, including a local councillor, were hurt in separate road accidents here in the past 24 hours. Mr Harpal Singh Fauzi, councillor of Ward number 4, was injured seriously when the motor cycle which he was driving, was hit by some unknown vehicle near Jagera village, near here, last evening.

Mr Arvind Malhotra, member, Punjab School Education Board, addresses participants at a personal contact programme at Sanatan Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Ahmedgarh, on Friday. Apprehending exploitation of the provisions of the open school mode of school education through a nexus among certain private schools and commercial academies, Mr Arvind Malhotra, a member of the Punjab School Education Board, has called upon social and educational organisations to coordinate with the board authorities in shattering unethical practices.

PAU gets food sciences and engg dept
Ludhiana December 15
A hockey match in progress between the Agra and Noida teams during the 44th North Zone Inter-Varsity Hockey Tournament in Ludhiana on Friday. For the integrated functioning of food processing three existing departments, namely, Processing and Food Engineering, Food Science and Technology and Foods and Nutrition have been merged and a new department "Food Science and Engineering" has been set up in the College of Agriculture.

Ludhiana, December 15
Hosts, Punjab Agricultural University, began their campaign on a dismal note, losing first encounter 1-3 to Gurukul University, Hardwar, in the 44th North Zone Inter-varsity Hockey Tournament for men on the university campus here today.
