Kapoor, head of the Department of Cosmetic Surgery, Fortis Hospital, operated on Ms Jaqualine (69) on the morning of November 10 and Ms Patricia (67) in the afternoon. While talking to Chandigarh Tribune, Ms Jaqualine said that she wanted the surgery as her abdomen was scarred with three abdominal surgeries in the past 25 years, “Patricia, my younger sister, readily agreed to be my companion in the surgery as she also had a big tummy.” The sisters said that they opted to go in for the surgeries in India considering the cost factor. The expenditure on the surgeries was comparatively much less here than in the UK. Dr K.M. Kapoor said that getting surgery done with a partner is a latest trend worldwide. According to 2005 statistics released by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, more people are getting plastic surgery done with their companions. A reason for people seeking surgery with a partner is to provide moral support to one another, he added. |
