S. Africa team doctor saves labourer’s life
Mohali, October 26
Timely first aid given to a severely injured woman by the South African team’s doctor at the PCA Stadium here today saved her life.
The woman, identified as a labourer, Sumitra Devi, was cleaning the terrace
block when she suffered an epileptic attack. An unconscious Sumitra came
tumbling down the row of chairs. She had a severe wound on the temple and was
bleeding.

Police stops construction work on disputed plot

Construction activity started on a one-kanal plot at Kansal village was stopped by the police here today when a dispute arose among two groups over the ownership of the area.

A telecom engineer working in a Mumbai-based company was dragged out of his house and thrashed by a group of four youngsters in broad daylight by his neighbours at his Sector 8 residence here today. His wife, who came to rescue her husband, also sustained minor injuries.
