GMCH to get more neurosurgeons
Chandigarh, September 27 The services of Neurosurgery for conducting operations of various types of brain tumors, tumors of the spinal cord and cases of neurotrauma are being provided regularly. The department has been conducting about 25-30 surgeries per month. These facilities got an impetus a few years back due to availability of CT scan within the premises. The institution has plans to set up an MRI scan soon, a press note issued by the UT Administration said. |
41 examined at HIV awareness camp
Chandigarh, September 27 Over 300 people attended the camp in which free medicine for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and reproductive tract infection (RTIs) were given to 11 patients. The attendants were also given an demonstration on the right way to use condoms for prevention of HIV/AIDS/RTIs/STDs and unwanted pregnancies. |

Chandigarh, September 27 In football inter-zonal league tournament, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar got the better of DAV College, Hoshiarpur by 2-0. Kulwinder Singh and Sukhdeep Singh scored one goal each. In another match between SGGS Khalsa College, Mahilpur, and BAM Khalsa College, Garhshankar, the former won by 2-1. For winners, the goals were netted by Balwinder Singh while Mandip Singh hit the solitary goal for BAM

Prakriti wins 50m swimming event

Adventure camp ends
Chandigarh, September 27 At least 40 cadets, including 18 girls, were trained in sailing whalers, cadet class boats, kayaking and boat pulling. The highlight of the camp was an anti-drug rally on boats organised along the promenade of the lake. Led by a whaler under sails, a row of boats carrying placards sailed along, with cadets performing a street play on the boats, imploring the youth to wean away from drugs. |
