New PTA executive of GCW set up
Ludhiana, August 28 She said parents attend parent-teacher meetings regularly in school. But when it came to college, they did not bother to know the progress of their wards. The Principal added that the development of the college depended on the PTA fund. Last year it was Rs 600 per student but due to financial crunch it had been increased to Rs 800 this year. “The fund amount has been increased with the permission of the DPI. As we know that there has been no recruitment of teachers for the past many years, we have to arrange the faculty on our own and they get Rs 175 per lecture. Earlier, it was Rs 100 per lecture. We have collected approximately Rs 19.70 lakh in the PTA fund but our expenditure on the salaries of teachers alone amounts to Rs 19.83 lakh. We fail to understand how we will cover up the difference?”, she said. The new executive of the PTA for 2006-07 included Ms Prabhjot Kaur, (president), Ms N. Sekhon (vice-president), Mr Avtar Singh (senior vice-president), Ms Ritu Vasudeva (secretary) and Ms Parminder Kaur, Dr Premlata, Mr R.K.
