Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, at a few places in Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Shimla and Sujanpurtira 5 each, Ghamroor 4, Pandoh 3, Dundhi, Kasol, Nurpur and Sunibhaji 2 each and Bhang, Bhuntar, Paonta and Sundernagar 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 6, Katra 5, Batote, Bhaderwah and Srinagar 1 each, East Rajasthan:

Sallopat 7, Sajangarh 6, Kushalgarh and Mount Abu 5 each, Gyangarh 4, Badnor, Chikli, Gogunda, Kherwara, Kotda, Nasirabad, Shergarh, Sarada and Veja 3 each, Ajmer, Aspur, Girva and Udaipur City 2 each and Sirohi and Udaipur A.P. 1 each. West Rajasthan: Jaisalmer 14, Baitu and Sedwa 13 each, Barmer 12, Chotan 10, Balotra 8, Jodhpur, Raniwara, Sayla and Sindri 3 each and Ahore and Jalore 2 each. East Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur 3 and Regoli 1 and Uttaranchal: Joshimath, Kalagarh and Uttarkashi 3 each and Rudraprayag 2.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 23: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in southwest Rajasthan, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and rest Rajasthan and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely in southwest Rajasthan during next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 23: Partly cloudy sky with the possibility of rain/thundershowers in some areas.
