Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Jaten Barrage 13, Shimla 10, Kahu 6 and Berthin, Guler, Ghamroor, Kasol, Nagrotasurian and Sunibhaji 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 1, Punjab: Nangal 6, East Rajasthan: Kotda 28, Gogunda 21, Devgarh and Raipur 17 each, Amet and Vallabhnagar 16 each, Mavli 15, Mokhunda 14, Bhim, Kareda and Kumbalgarh 13 each, Bhopalsagar and Railmogra 12 each, Dungla, Jhadol and Tatgarh 11 each, Gyangarh, Girva, Sallumber and Udaipur AP 10 each, Asind, Barisadri, Nathdwara and Sarada 9 each, Chhotisadri and Jawaja 8 each, Bagore, Chikli and Hurda 7 each, Badnore, Deval and Vijaynagar 6 each and Banera, Hamirgarh, Roopaheli, Sambhugarh and Sabla 5 each, West Rajasthan: Baitu 16, Pachpadra 15, Guda 13, Balotra 10, Dhorimanna, Siwana and Sindri 9 each, Barmer 8, Luni 7, Sedwa 6 and Chotan, Ramsar and Shiv 5 each, East Uttar Pradesh: Basti, Elginbridge, Hanumansetu, Lucknow and Mukhlishpur 3 each and Ayodhya, Ballia, Bansi and Chandradeepghat 1 each and Uttaranchal: Uttarkashi 8, Banbasa and Dehra Dun 5 each and Rishikesh 1.

Heavy rainfall warning: Scattered heavy to very heavy rain is likely over southwest Rajasthan, isolated heavy rain is also likely over Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and rest of Rajasthan during next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 22, 2006: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of one or two spells of rain/thundershowers in some areas.
