11 hurt in accident: Eleven passengers, including a baby, were injured as a three-wheeler in which they were travelling overturned on Thursday. Sources said the passengers were coming from Panjkosi village to participate in a condolence meeting at Killianwali village. The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital at
Panjkosi.

Case against father: Rohini Singh of mohalla Chhatta Bazaar has got a case registered against her father Rajesh Chander under Sections 323 and 506 of the IPC. She alleged that her father had been harassing and threatening her husband and her mother-in-law.
Purse snatched: Two motor cycle-borne youths snatched a purse containing Rs 16,000 and a mobile phone from Ms Kanchan Kumari of Budi Pind while she was going on her bicycle from Tanda to her village on Wednesday. The Tanda police has registered a case under Sections 382 and 34 of the IPC.

Tree plantation: Mr Sarwan Kumar , Chairman, Nishkam Sewa Ashram said at a tree plantation function organised in its ashram premises here on Thursday that we needed to grow more trees to curb pollution. He urged the people to plant fruit trees as they not only provide shelter but also food. Nishkam has been helping plant such trees in schools, banks and government departments for the past 30 years.

Housefed plans more loans: Punjab Housefed, which extended Rs 109.9 crore as loan to housing societies for building 5,426 residential units in the state in 2005-06, proposes to disburse Rs 160 crore in the current fiscal. This was stated by State Cooperation and Horticulture Minister, Mr Jasjit Singh Randhawa, while talking for newsmen here on Thursday. He said Housefed had advanced loans totalling Rs 109.9 crore during 2005-06 to the members of cooperative house building societies.
Act tough with terrorism: BJP: The former Punjab BJP president and former minister, Mr Madan Mohan Mittal, has urged the Union Government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the increasing incidents of violence by the militants encouraged by foreign powers in some parts of the country. Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, Mr Mittal said India should adopt a “tough stance” against Pakistan as the cross-border terrorism had crossed all limits of tolerance.
