Chandigarh win by 4 wickets
Chandigarh, June 21 Panchkula began their second innings with skipper Mandeep Singla and Varun Khanna surpassing the lead of the first inning’s 62 runs in the 10th over without losing a wicket, Varun Khanna was clean bowled while Mandeep Singla scored a brisk 40 runs before being caught out. Thereafter, Shankar Nair 37 and Karan Malik 18 did some rescue act. Yashwardhan also contributed valuable 20 not out before the innings folded at 192 all out in 39.1 overs. Vipul Chadha claimed 3 for 45 while Rohit and Amanjeet claimed 2 wickets each. Requiring 132 to win in stipulated 40 overs of the second innings, Chandigarh Arjun and Amrinder were out when the score was 54 for 4.Thereafter, Rohit Singh (25) and Gagan (23) took the score to 100. Chandigarh completed the required runs in the 34th over of the innings with 4 wickets in hand. Ashutosh Walia for the Panchkula chipped in with 2 for 28. Harjot Singh claimed 6 wickets for 65. Ambala in the second innings scored 161 all out in 38.3 overs with the help of well-made 56 from Bhanu Mor. Mohit Dhina contributed 29 runs to the team’s total. Sandeep claimed 6 wickets for 46. Kurukshetra required 187 runs in 40 overs for an outright victory. Madhav Sharma scored a superb half century.
