Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, May 26
The new session of the schools affiliated to the Punjab School Board started nearly two months ago, but text books are not available at Ludhiana Book Depot, the biggest one in the state. Surprisingly, the books can be easily had from book depots of Fatehgarh, Nawanshahr and Jalandhar.

According to information some books are stored in the depot but these have not got the releasing orders. The books are simply dumped in the store and are of no use to the students.

Due to the non-availability of the books, students, teachers and parents are disturbed.

Book traders of Ludhiana have appealed to the Chairman, Punjab School Education Board, Education Minister and Chief Minister, Punjab, to get the books released.

Shopkeepers say the books of mathematics and English of Class VIII grammar and social studies books of Class VI are not available, creating a lot of tension among students.
