Ambala
Fast: Office-bearers of the “Sarv Karamchari Sangh Haryana, Ambala branch on Tuesday 24 hour fast near DC Office to press for their various demands. The fast is being observed by Mr Mahavir Prasad Dahiya while it is being coordinated by Mr Jai Bhagwan Sharma. Among others, Mr Chaman Lal Walia, Mr Arjun Das, Mr Nirmal Singh, Mr Satish Sethi and Mr Krishan Lal Sagar were present.

Rewari 
Cash, jewellery looted
: Thieves broke into the house of Mr Azad Singh Yadav at Usmapur village, about 25 km from here, on Sunday and decamped with cash totalling Rs 1.35 lakh and jewellery worth about Rs 25,000. The house was reportedly locked as the inmates were out of station. Mr Rajesh Kumar, Station House Officer of Rohrai police station, inspected the house on Monday and a dog squad was also pressed into service to trace the culprits. A case of burglary under Sections 457, 380 of the IPC has been registered in this regard.

Gangsters nabbed : Two gangsters, Deepak Sony and Krishan Kumar, both members of a notorious gang headed by Jeeta Gujjar, looted Rs 3,000 as well as a wrist watch from Yogesh, a resident of Mohalla Banjarwara here, at a place near the Sati Colony Chowk on Sunday night. The gangsters, who were on a motor cycle (DL 8S A/1141) fled after committing the crime. The city police, which registered a case, has arrested the gangsters.

Lineman electrocuted: Banwari Lal (50), a lineman of Dharuhera subdivision of the DHBVN, was electrocuted while rectifying a fault at Malpura village near Dharuhera on Monday night. Doctors at the Civil Hospital here referred him to the PGIMS Rohtak where he was declared brought dead.

Bilaspur
School building inaugurated
: Forests Minister Ram Lal Thakur inaugurated the building of Government Senior Secondary School at Barmana, near here, on Wednesday. This school building was constructed by ACC Cement Factory and the minister handed over the keys of the building to the Deputy Director of Education, Mr S. R. Kondal, in front of a large gathering of schoolchildren. Addressing the function, Mr Ram Lal Thakur said Bilaspur district now had 40 senior secondary schools, 51 high schools and 122 middle schools. ACC Cement Factory General Manager R. C. Ramani declared that the company would also provide desks to students, furniture for the office and also equipment in science labs.

Nurpur
Notification issued
: The Himachal Pradesh Government through the Department of Urban Development has issued the much-awaited notification relating to the nomination of three new members of the local Municipal Council (MC). The new co-opted members are Mr Prem Dass Sahotra hailing from Other Backward Classes and general secretary of the town welfare committee, Mr Pawan Kapoor and
Mr Shanti Swaroop Sharma.
