Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures changed little.

Departure: This was markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan, above normal in Uttaranchal, below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in west Uttar Pradesh. The highest temperature in the region was 44.9°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 2: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 2: Partly cloudy sky with dust haze. Thundery development/light rain accompanied with squall is likely in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 39°C.
