PU prepares two reports on research done by it

With a view to justifying funds it gets from the Punjab Government, Panjab University has prepared two reports to be submitted to the government on the contribution that the university has made to the state.
New ACR proforma disappoints teachers

The new proforma for writing the ACRs of the school teachers in UT has been released by the Education Department, Chandigarh Administration. Copies of the new proforma have been sent to all government schools in the city.

An inter-school Punjabi poetry competition in memory of Sardarni Ranbir Kaur was today organised at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36. Nine students participated in the event during which they wrote and recited poems on the two topics ‘Nature and spirituality’ and ‘Human emotions and social issues’.
150 pharmacy college students get prizes

Slum kids prove their mettle
Panchkula, April 26
Students of Class V of the Jagriti school, a school for slum kids, excelled in exams conducted by the Haryana State Education Board in April 2006.
Out of nine students who appeared in the exams, five gabbed the first division. The Jagriti's result was 100 percent.
Paper outside the syllabus

Candidates appearing in B.Com first year examinations have complained to the Panjab University Vice-Chancellor that a part of their business and statistics paper held on March 24 was outside
the syllabus.
Students apprised of traffic rules
Mohali, April 26
The Mohali traffic police organised a lecture on traffic rules at Swami Ram Tirtha Public High School here today.
Traffic police personnel made the students aware of traffic rules and signs. The Principal of the school, Ms Kiran Bhandari, appreciated efforts of the traffic police on creating awareness on road safety.
Law institute: HC dismisses plea for third-judge opinion

In a severe setback to the attempts of the Chandigarh Administration and the directors of Chandigarh Law Institute Private Limited to stall the implementation of the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court setting aside the controversial allotment of a prime price land to the company in Sector 38A, a single Judge of the High Court today dismissed their pleas for referring the judgement to a third judge for his opinion.
Govt told to comply with CAT on LTC

The Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed the Government of India to implement an order of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Chandigarh Bench, without any further delay. The order pertains to reimbursement of leave travel concession (LTC) for a journey undertaken by a government officer and members of his family.
