Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms. are: Himachal Pradesh: Kalpa 2 and Barsar 1 and Jammu and Kashmir: Bhaderwah 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh, fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, fell in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were above normal in Haryana and Uttaranchal, markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.7°C recorded at Dholpur (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 19: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan. Isolated thundersqualls are likely in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal.
