New Delhi, April 8
Heat wave conditions prevailed in west Rajasthan and in some parts of Haryana and east Rajasthan.

Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures changed little. Departure: This was markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and above normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 42.6°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 10: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and north Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 10: Partly cloudy sky. The maximum temperature will be around 40°C.
