Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region. Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures changed little. Departure: They were largely above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal and above normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.7°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan) and Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 9: Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 9: Mainly clear sky. The maximum temperature will be around 39°C.
