Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: past 24-hour change: The minimum temperatures fell in Uttaranchal, rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: This was appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was -0.8°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 13: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 13: Mainly clear sky. Mist/shallow fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 6°C.
