BSNL staff protest against disinvestment

Parents of dowry victim not happy with police probe
Ludhiana, December 21
With the Ropar police dropping the charges of dowry demand against the Mohali-based in-laws of a local woman, who was allegedly killed for dowry, the International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO and the parents of the deceased have expressed dissatisfaction at the investigations conducted by the police into the case. Amandeep Kaur, daughter of a PAU Professor, Dr B.S. Joia, who was working as a lecturer in an Education College near Mohali was allegedly poisoned to death on November 5.

Ludhiana, December 21 Like Divali Christmas, too, has been totally hi-jacked by the Chinese. Santa Clause has neither come from the country of its origin nor has it been made by the Indian companies , but the Chinese have mass produced it and exported it to India.

The Sudhar police on the complaint of the father of a woman has registered a case under Sections 363, 366, 376, 511, 342, 506, 120 B of the IPC against a couple and their one relative who are now under judicial custody.

‘Steps’, a division of BetterThink Learning Systems is organising a mock test series for Class X from December 25, 2005, in their centre at Sarabha Nagar, here. The test series would be based on the pattern of the CBSE Board Examination and would be held every weekend till February 25, 2006.

KVM organises elocution contest
Ludhiana, December 21
The junior humanities forum of Kundan Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines, here organised an inter-house English/Hindi elocution contest here today. The chief guest, Mr S. C. Saxena, Principal, was welcomed by Mr J. P. Sharda, incharge of the middle section. Each house featured two contestants who recited their poems in English and Hindi respectively. The Principal applauded the efforts of the contestants who performed with great confidence.

Free dental check-up camp organised

More than 450 persons were given dental check-up, another 150 patients had their teeth extracted and around 75 were provided dental fillings at a free dental check-up camp organised by the Bhai Ghanaya Ji Sewa Sanstha in Janakpuri main market here yesterday.
