Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperature rose in Haryana and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was appreciably below normal in Punjab, below normal in west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.2°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) and Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of December 19, 2005: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of December 19, 2005: Mainly clear sky. Mist/Shallow fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 7°C.
