Dera Bassi, December 17 In the camp, 227 patients were examined free of cost by Dr Sandeep Kumar from the local Civil Hospital, and a team of doctors from HelpAge India. Dr Ram Kumar was the chief guest while Dr P.C. Swami was the guest of honour. |
Fun, frolic at Carmel Convent meet
Chandigarh, December 17 The programme commenced with flag hoisting and singing of the school anthem.This was followed by a march past, oath and lighting the torch. Sports activities included drills with coloured balls, dumb bells, ribbons and pom poms which were highly appreciated by the audience. The cultural extravaganza included Desert Symphony, an Arabic dance presented by the students. Various track events were organised for the students of classes 1 to 11. The students then commemorated the ‘Year of Physics’ through Dynamic Rhapsody. A prize distribution ceremony was also held on the occasion in which students excelling in various fields were honoured by the chief guest. The function concluded with the presentation of Gloria in Excelsis Deo, a tableaux , heralding the onset of the Christmas season. |
Saupin’s athletic meet
Chandigarh, December 17 Mr I.S. Sandhu, Additional DC, Chandigarh, was the chief guest on the occasion. The major events of the day were dupatta drill, dandia drill, cricket drill, board drill and a Choi-Kwong-do demonstration by students. The students also participated in a few interesting track races like lemon-spoon, obstacle, wheel-barrow, 3 legged and relay races. A significant event of the day was a race organised by the SCSO (Saupin’s Community Service Organisation) for special children who were invited from GIMRC to participate in the event. The grand finale of the sports meet was a colourful bhangra dance which entertained the audience. Some fun-filled events were organised for the parents and staff too. The sports meet concluded with a speech by the Headmaster, Mr A.B.S. Sidhu, followed by a prize distribution ceremony. |

Chandigarh, December 17 After winning the toss, AG UP decided to bat first but could not capitalize on the initial advantage and ended their innings at 128 in 28.3 overs. Satish Doria scored 51 runs off 54 balls and Vinod Kushwaha scored 23 off 46 balls. Aggressive bowling by Arun Tuli ( 4 for 32 in 7 overs) and Monoj Rajan ( 2 for 29 in 5 overs) proved too formidable for the AG UP team.
