Teachers’ body sets up panel Chandigarh, December 8 The 11-member action committee is headed by Dr Vinod Sharma, convener, and Mr Jit Singh Somal, co-convener. The committee is also soon expected to meet the Education Secretary to discuss various demands, including the promotion of all UT cadre teachers, release of updated, year-wise seniority list and review of the transfer policy. In addition to this, the union has also been demanding the reversion of all deputationists, abolishment of the contract system and appointment of the State Institute of Education Director from the school cadre. Meanwhile, the general body meeting of the GTU will be held tomorrow at 4 pm near the Jama Masjid ground.
